Prayer of Rabi'a

This prayer is an old Sufi prayer by Rabi'a al-'Adawiyya of Basra

A lot of people who know me think I'm an athiest or so extremly agnostic that I ought to be. Quite the opposite, I'm VERY spirtual and mystic, under the surface of a tech person. (computers, electronics, science)

However, I tend to hide it mainly because I'm repulsed and disgusted by religion, especially how it is practiced in America and the people who follow it. First off, we have self-seeking preeechers who talk like they are the eyes, ears and C-ck of God, mainly because they've mastered selective quoting of texts and applied ignorance. "You insult ME!!?? Apologize, or my followers shall smite thee, for the Bible says 'Thou Shalt....KILL!'"

Uh, people who've actually seen just a microscopic glimpse of the infinite in a vision? Raise your hands. I would... Except I'm NOT starting a new "Religion" or claiming any 'authority'. I'm only even mentioning it 'cause I'm pretty sure these self-serving prophet for profit types would MELT if they saw what they claim, and they certainly wouldn't behave as they do.

Then, worshipping them and giving them their money, are the sheep. They don't really think, they let others do it for them. And when it's not their preecher man, it's another demagoge like Rush Limbaugh. Many of them actually think they are going good, but dropping dollars to a charity where the preecher takes most of it, or voting for a billionaire's puppet 'cause he pretends to be a religious man does far more harm than good. And, ultamitely, to approach the infinite requires personal effort, not attendance in church or blind support of a 'holy' person.

They love to boast Jesus Christ is their personal savior, but IMHO they'd PICK A FIGHT with him if they actually met him.

Just as church needs to be seperated from state, God and Jesus and spirituality must be seperated from church, lest the cancer of pride, greed, spite and wrath continue to poison man not just against the choir boy a$$ F*ckers, but what they claim to worship and represent.
